Landid Property (Holdings) Ltd have been appointed by Warner
Bros. as their development manager for the £120m redevelopment of
their studios at Leavesden near Watford.
The scheme will involve the refurbishment of approximately 750,000
sq ft of studios, office workshops and ancillary space and the
development of two new sound stages to house and display many of
the iconic sets, costumes, creatures and props from various Warner
Bros. films shot in the UK. Initially this will be a
behind-the-scenes look at the Harry Potter movie series.
The 170 acre site is where Warner Bros. has produced eight Harry
Potter films and other more recent blockbusters, including The Dark
Knight, Sherlock Holmes and Inception. Overall it has attracted
some £1.9billion in production budgets - almost 40 percent of the
UK's inward film investment during the last decade.
